The basic principle is to generate stress waves by applying an excitation signal to the top of the pile. When the stress wave propagates along the pile body, it will generate a reflection wave when it encounters a discontinuous interface (such as honeycomb, mud inclusion, fracture, hole and other defects) and the bottom of the pile. By detecting and analyzing the propagation time, amplitude and waveform characteristics of the reflection wave, the integrity of the pile can be judged.
